The Cybertruck Range Extender Battery Can No Longer Be Ordered.
Previously, the launch of the Cybertruck Range Extender was postponed twice. Now, without explaining the reasons, the company has removed the ability to order it from its online store.
Automaker Tesla Motors has silently removed the ability to pre-order the Range Extender, a battery for the Cybertruck pickup truck, from its own online store, Electrek reports.
When the Cybertruck was announced, it was said to have a range of 804 km, but the version that eventually went on sale had a range of only 523 km. To remedy the situation, the manufacturer introduced a separate battery pack installed in the body of the electric vehicle and called it a “Range Extender”.
After that, for the originally announced range, it became necessary to pay an additional $16 thousand on top of the already increased price of the Cybertruck since the announcement. At the same time, an additional battery could be pre-ordered for a “non-refundable deposit of $2,000.”
According to the manufacturer’s promises, the Cybertruck Range Extender was supposed to be available in early 2025, but the product release was postponed to the middle of the year. Now it has been completely removed from the store.
The Cybertruck specifications on the Tesla website still indicate the range taking into account the Range Extender.
